Love is as solid as the rock of Gibraltar
Join us to celebrate the new launch from Goat Star Books - Gibraltar. This is a collection of poems by Gabriel Moreno, a Gibraltar-born, London-based poet and singer-songwriter. Like Gibraltar itself, it aims to act as a bridge between English and the Spanish-speaking cultures. In includes Gabriel’s reflections on his birthplace as well as twenty “sonetos llanitos”, an experiment in multiculturalism and multilingualism that resonates with all who find themselves between two cultures.
The collection is a reflection on Gibraltar as a meeting point between Hispanic and Anglo cultures in the post-colonial world. It also coincides with the signing of the agreement between the UK and Spain/the EU to resolve the limbo in which the Rock was left after Brexit.
Following the readings there will be a Q&A. Refreshments will be served and there will be a signing. The event is free, places are limited and we ask that you buy a 3€ voucher, redeemable at the event.
