Secret Kingdoms is delighted to welcome back Author Tree Elven and Artist Lance Tooks for a look at their latest collaborations: Catwork, and Captain Thrust.

With Captain Thrust, we are back in the 80´s, and Britain´s first female Prime Minister is locking horns with the Gay Community and with the European Community. Enter the world´s most desirable man, Captain Thrust, and his repulsive sidekick, Disease. Tree´s witty and creative prose offers full rein to Lance´s artistic talent. In Catwork, we join five Rescue Cats who just want to earn money to help their owner, but when two of them get modelling jobs, al manner of mayhem breaks loose. “The Author and Artist capture some unforgettable feline personalities” (per 5* review) 

Lance Tooks is co-editor of African-American Graphic Classics, and began his comics career as a Marvel Comics assistant editor. Lance has also worked as an animator on more than a hundred television commercials, films and music videos. He has self-published a number of comics, and illustrated The Black Panthers for Beginners, written by Herb Boyd.

Tree Elven  is a British-born writer and long-time resident of Spain whose journalistic background informs much of her ‘profoundly superficial’ fiction. Her novels and short stories tend to revolve around sexual / political shenanigans, with plenty of mischievous farce. Fun but not facile.

The Event will include an interview with both Lance and Tree about the book, also touching on their previous work, plus a Q&A. Refreshments will be served and there will be a signing. The event is free, places are limited, and we ask that you buy a 3€ voucher, redeemable at the event.
