Missing a Caravaggio? Make the Madrid Connection!
Secret Kingdoms is delighted to welcome back author Tim Parfitt. Tim moved to Madrid in 1988 to support the launch of Spanish Vogue, which he ended up running. His misadventures are hilariously told in “A Load of Bull”. He now writes intricate, witty, fast-moving thrillers…. Join Tim to make “The Madrid Connection” a standalone crime-thriller sprinkled with black comedy, but also a sequel to ’The Barcelona Connection’ where we first met British art detective Benjamin Blake.. The “Connections” are currently under development for TV.
The Madrid Connection - On the night Madrid hosts the Champions League Final, disaster erupts at the Prado Museum: a guard is murdered, and a Caravaggio stolen.
Benjamin Blake finds himself dragged into the chaos. Suddenly he’s the investigation’s uninvited headache, and possibly its key. Freelance journalist Elena Carmona is also in Madrid, digging into the poison of racism in football, an evil that opens into a far wider conspiracy. As her investigation crashes straight into Benjamin’s, they find themselves at the centre of something far darker than they ever imagined.
The event is an in-person interview with Ann Bateson, voice artist, former BBC contributor and producer and presenter of the English language programme, 'Madrid Live’ and there will be a Q&A. Refreshments will be served and there will be a signing. The event is free, places are limited, and we ask that you buy a 3€ voucher, redeemable at the event.
