Prowl the changing streets of Madrid With John Dapolito & a clowder of cats (First Evening)

A true Madrileño is a cool cat, a “gato” being someone whose parents, and grandparents were born in the city. There are fewer of them than you might think..
But what of the stray cats, folk born elsewhere, who have chosen to make Madrid their home? Can they too be cool “gatos”? or will they forever be “Stray Cats” ?
Seventeen long-term, foreign born residents of Madrid have written about their trials, triumphs, losses and passion; for Madrid, this capital of Spain. Unique voices and experiences, tumbling through the pages with sincerity and style.
Forty years of memories, from the post Franco period of democratic reconstruction to the present. This is Madrid from the inside; a city always on the move, ever changing and changing lives forever. Together with thirty-six evocative black and white photos that blend poetically the past with the present, Stray Cats captures nostalgia and a sense of place, transporting the reader to a Madrid they never knew existed.
